What I want, and what I’m actually going to eat, are two very different things!

When you’re dieting or just trying to eat better, you don’t have to make food your enemy.

We all have cravings and give in to them during the holidays without feeling too much guilt because we’ve already declared our New Year’s Resolutions. Which most likely have something to do with getting healthier or feeling better.

Once the party stops, and the dawn of a fresh new year hits us in the face, the reality of what we want isn’t as enticing as it sounded when the table was full of Christmas cookies, muffins, ham, turkey, and of course stuffing! Now we actually have to do the work for the desired outcome.

Not everyone will keep their promises, and that’s ok! I don’t think too many of us expect it, especially since, we, ourselves, fall short year after year. The good news… we don’t have to be disappointed with another failed goal because it doesn’t have to be difficult, especially with food.

No matter what diet you’re trying, they all pretty much say the same thing…moderation.

Of course, you want to stay away from certain foods that we know aren’t going to do us favors, but we can still enjoy small portions when the cravings hit, or find a healthy alternative that won’t leave you feeling hungry or unsatisfied.

Yes, I want that burger and those fries but I’ll stick to the plan and have something that’s not only good for me, but also delicious! Cooking with fresh food and herbs can give your dish a boost in the right direction.
