The Path to Better Content

I’ve been blogging for 8 years now but that really doesn’t mean much. When I signed up with WordPress it was a personal thing,  over the years it’s morphed and developed into much more. I have often taken breaks to focus on other

projects, but it’s something I’ve always come back to. If anything, it’s helped me connect with others, and gain valuable advice from other bloggers sharing their lives. I only hope I was able to do for them, what they’ve done for me!

Learning the ins and outs of the social media beast isn’t easy. For one, it’s constantly changing. Just when I thought I knew how the algorithm works, they change it. It took me some time just to understand what it is, and just when I think I get it…Bam! It’s new all over again. Screen Shot 2017-12-27 at 2.03.35 PM

New businesses have it hard, starting from scratch is no easy task, but it’s doable!

Organic growth is slow-going, but it’s real. Building an audience that is actively engaged, is a dream for marketers. It is possible to achieve, but you must be willing to have patience. Unrealistic goals are what causes a lot of us to give up too soon.

This might guarantee actual “likes”,  but it’s not an engaged audience, and the systems can now tell a bot from authentic engagement. When that happens, your content can get demoted and suffer the consequences of not getting shown as much as it would have been otherwise.

The one sure way to stay ahead is to spend the time on content. Real content!

Depending on your niche, there are a lot of platforms out there that will offer you ideas if you’re feeling stuck.

  • PromoRepublic is the one source –  I’ve used this one the longeScreen Shot 2017-12-27 at 1.49.30 PMst. Cheapest monthly fee is $9 a month but you can try for free for 6 days.
    • Perks
      • Post Ideas
      • Content Creator
      • East Graphic
      • Design Templates
      • Free Articles to Share
      • Stock Images – Sourced through the platform for easy content creation
      • Calendar Scheduling

Although I prefer PromoRepublic, I have been forced to look for alternatives that offered something they didn’t.

I haven’t worked enough with the following two, but they were recommended from other Social Media Planners, so I’ll give them a try!

Remember – Saturating the internet with useless info that you can find anywhere, isn’t something that’s going to get you traffic. Freshen it up a little and put your spin on it. Not everyone is going to love it, but that’s OK.

And…

Don’t stop…when you feel like everything you’re doing isn’t working, don’t give up! It takes time for content to circulate. Do the work to get it out there, share it where ever you can, and you will see the reward! Screen Shot 2017-12-27 at 2.15.38 PM

Do you need help with content or are you a natural pro?

If you do use a little help, what platform do you use? Would you recommend it? Why?
